Lauren turns FIVE!

I can't believe my "baby" is now 5! How did this happen?
We started celebrating the birthday a little early with a small gathering of 5 little girls (in class together last year) at Purple Glaze right before school started. We're trying to downsize birthdays...why invite everybody when let's face it....there are a select few that we really connect with. It was the simplest, quietest party ever. So cute to watch them all sitting at one table painting their pottery...politely exchanging stories of their summer fun!
Gran and Grandad came in town the weekend before the birthday to celebrate...good times.
On the actual day, September 15th...Nana came over before heading to work...nothing like presents first thing in the morning! Then it was off to school...we took special cookies for her class to enjoy during snack time...and in chapel, she received a birthday blessing and all the kids sang "Happy Birthday". What kid wouldn't love that? After school, Aunt Heather dropped by from FTW to say hello...nice to visit. Then daddy came home and we hit Fernando's for birthday dinner....once home, Aunt Carrie arrived bearing gifts!!! Whew! What a day! And to top it all off, Lauren and Anna went with daddy to a Rangers game along with Grandaddy and got to celebrate there as well. Talk about "birthday month". It was exhausting.
Lauren is so proud to be 5 and such a big girl.
She continues to be the one keeping us laughing. We've had alot of issues along the way...spirited...clothing preferences, etc.....but it's been a joy to watch her grow up! I told her
to please not grow anymore...because she's too cute like she is. She responded, "I not eat green beans anymore??" Uh-oh...you see, she eats green beans because I told her they make her "taller"....guess it back-fired on me!!!
Happy Birthday, Lauren!
